Job summary

develop is seeking a Senior Web Engineer to join a security-focused product team. This remote-first role blends web development with application security, exploring authentication, cryptography, and advanced defense techniques.

You’ll collaborate with engineers, security specialists and product stakeholders to design robust client-side protections, deploy defensive controls, and promote secure software practices across the roadmap. Occasional travel to London will be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional web development experience.
• Some experience with application security, cryptography, secure communications and authentication.

Responsibilities

• Engineer defensive controls for software running in untrusted client environments.
• Develop mechanisms to detect and respond to unauthorised modification, inspection, manipulation and automated interaction.
• Identify weaknesses across client-side architectures and turn security research into deployable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, security specialists and product stakeholders to embed security from design to production.
• Lead investigations into complex security issues and engineer preventive solutions.
• Influence architectural decisions around security, resilience, performance and client-side trust.
• Share specialist knowledge to help teams adopt stronger secure design and implementation.
