Job summary

A leading technology consultancy is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to influence platform security from the design stage. The role involves threat modelling, ensuring compliance, and providing security assurance for solutions hosted in AWS. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in information security, strong skills in threat modelling and architecture review, and excellent communication abilities. This position offers a competitive daily rate and is remote within the UK.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in information or cyber security roles within complex technology environments.
• Experience in threat modelling and secure architecture review.
• Strong understanding of cloud and network security principles.
• Ability to interpret and challenge designs from architects and DevOps teams.
• Experience reviewing access controls and network configurations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Knowledge of security governance, risk management and standards.

Responsibilities

Security Engineer Requirements:

• Proven experience in information or cyber security roles within complex, modern technology environments.
• Strong hands‑on experience with threat modelling methodologies and secure architecture review.
• Solid understanding of platform, cloud and network security principles, including AWS environments.
• Ability to interpret and challenge technical designs produced by architects, engineers and DevOps teams.
• Experience reviewing access controls, network configurations and platform‑level security decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to redirect technical approaches while remaining collaborative.
• Knowledge of security standards, governance and risk management practices.
