Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Senior Web Developer to join the TRANSAXpay Development team in a hybrid role based around Birmingham, UK. You’ll build web‑based applications, from consumer-facing payment pages to merchant APIs and internal tools, and support client integrations with a client‑first, value‑driven mindset.

You’ll collaborate with a tight-knit team, tackling challenges with Java, HTML/CSS, REST, Spring Boot and related tech.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java, HTML, CSS, REST APIs and Spring Boot.
• Experience with JBoss, relational databases (Oracle) and SQL.
• Familiarity with build tools (Gradle or Maven) and source control (Git/GitHub).

Responsibilities

• Develop web-based applications from consumer-facing payment pages to APIs and internal tools.

Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for Senior Web Developer to join our ever‑evolving TRANSAXpay Payments team and help shape the future of global commerce. While web development skills are crucial, a background in payments and fintech would be highly beneficial.

What you’ll own

• You’ll be developing our web‑based applications from consumer‑facing payment pages to merchant‑facing APIs and internal support tools.
• Taking the time to really understand their needs, you’ll support our clients as they integrate their systems with the services offered by Global Payments.

About the team

Our Product and Technology teams are the Globalpayers behind the game‑changing products and digital experiences we’re best known for. Striving for better, they never stand still—delivering impactful innovations that power transactions across the world.

The TRANSAXpay Development team is a small, tight‑knit community of 25 developers, project managers and testers, mostly based around Birmingham, U.K., but also in Scotland, the Netherlands, the USA and India. Our nominal base is our office in Birmingham, U.K., but we operate a hybrid working model and have several permanently remote workers.

We develop payments solutions under our TRANSAXpay brand, covering credit/debit/store card/gift card acceptance through Chip and PIN payment terminals. We also support fuel card acceptance for a number of brands as well as online e‑commerce payments and our own closed‑loop stored‑value solution.
