Job summary

Worldpay (UK) Limited is seeking a Senior Web Developer to advance our TRANSAXpay Web platform. You’ll build consumer-facing pages, merchant APIs, and internal tools, aligning closely with client needs and integration requirements.

You’ll bring deep Java/Javascript expertise, Spring Boot, JBoss/JSP/Servlets experience, and Oracle SQL know-how, plus a proactive, ownership-driven mindset in a hybrid UK-based team.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience building web apps with Java, HTML, CSS and modern JS.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful services and Spring Boot ecosystems.
  • Experience with J2EE components (JBoss, JSP, Servlets) and build tools (Gradle/Maven).
  • Database experience with Oracle, SQL and DDL.
  • Version control with Git/GitHub and Linux CLI skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop web-based applications from consumer pages to merchant APIs and internal tools.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand integration needs and deliver value-driven solutions.
  • Contribute to design, implementation, testing and CI/CD of services and apps.

We're looking for Senior Web Developer to join our ever-evolving TRANSAXpay Payments team and help shape the future of global commerce. Whilst web development skills are crucial, a background payments and fintech would be extremely beneficial.

What you'll own

You'll be developing our web-based applications from consumer-facing payment pages to merchant-facing APIs and internal support tools. Taking the time to really understand their needs, you'll support our clients as they integrate their systems to the services offered by Global Payments.

About the team

Our Product and Technology teams are the Globalpayers behind the game-changing products and digital experiences we're best known for. Striving for better, they never stand still - delivering impactful innovations that power transactions across the world. Our TRANSAXpay Development team is a small, tight knit community of 25 developers, project managers and testers, mostly based around Birmingham, U.K., but also in Scotland, the Netherlands, the USA and India. Our nominal base is our office in Birmingham, U.K., but we operate a hybrid working model and have a few permanently remote workers. We develop payments solutions under our TRANSAXpay brand predominately covering credit/debit/store card/gift card acceptance through Chip and PIN payment terminals. We also support fuel card acceptance for a number of different brands as well as online ecommerce payments and our own closed-loop stored-value solution.
