Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal or Associate Engineer (Wastewater Network Modelling) to lead urban drainage modelling and support delivery across UK projects. You will mentor junior staff, contribute technical input, and help shape delivery approaches while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or environmental engineering with progression toward chartership.
• Chartered status or near progression (ICE/IEI/IoW/CIWEM) is expected.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop the urban drainage modelling capability within the team and mentor juniors.
• Assist the team lead in managing the local technical delivery group.
• Provide technical input on urban drainage projects and support wastewater workstreams.
• Apply independent engineering judgement and deliver innovative solutions.
• Build and maintain client relationships across levels; run project meetings.
• Contribute to business development and proposal activities.
• Promote the WSP brand at industry events and conferences.
• Share knowledge to develop the wider team.
