Job summary

Adler and Allan, based in Sheffield, seeks a hydraulic modeller to lead wastewater hydraulic modelling projects. The role covers planning surveys, site visits, building and verifying models, and client liaison, with mentoring of graduates and assistants.

The successful candidate will contribute to risk assessments and assist in developing training modules within a supportive, career‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or qualification plus experience.
• 3 years practical experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling.
• 2-3 years ICM 1D experience with some 2D experience.
• Member of appropriate professional body.

Responsibilities

• Planning and supervising various surveys
• Managing site visits - walkovers, investigations, observing survey contractors
• Building and verification of hydraulic models
• Introduction to project scoping and modelling solutions
• Analysing results using software including Excel
• Engaging with clients via phone, email or meetings with senior staff
• Supervising and checking the work of graduate/assistant modellers
• Preparation of risk assessments
• Assist in developing in-house training modules
