Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Principal/Associate Director Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller to join the Wastewater Team in Derby/Birmingham. You will lead hydraulic modelling frameworks, oversee model build and maintenance, and deliver catchment strategies for major UK water clients.

You will ensure quality outputs, drive improvements, and support tender responses while mentoring staff and contributing to technical innovation within a leading UK water practice.

Qualifications

• Understanding of UK Water Industry and regulatory issues.
• Proven track record in coordinating and delivering technically excellent projects.
• Expertise using InfoWorks ICM and ICM Exchange.
• Expertise in hydraulic modelling, catchment planning and solution development.
• Ability to review work of others to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement in work delivered to the client.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Expertise in MS 365 applications, and knowledge in areas such as PowerBI and SharePoint.
• Experience working with software such as FME, Optimatics, Ruby (or similar) would be advantageous.
• Relevant degree or vocational qualification.
• Chartered with a relevant professional institution (i.e. ICE or CIWEM) would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Leading Storm Overflows Discharge Reduction Plan, flood alleviation and environmental solution development projects.
• Leading model build, model maintenance, and verification projects.
• Leading the development and delivery of wastewater catchment strategies and solutions.
• Responsible for the quality of outputs and compliance with standards & specifications.
• Driving continuous improvement in project delivery.
• Ability to manage and/or support project managers to manage, projects and programmes of works.
• Support in the development of tender responses and fee estimates.
• Supervising and developing staff and providing guidance to support their professional development.
• Contributing towards technical innovation and leading improvement workgroups.
