Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a Principal Waste Contract Officer to join the Waste Management Team in Hereford. You will analyse performance against contractual outcomes and work with contractors to deliver value for money while supporting the council's environmental targets.

The role requires travel around the county, some early starts, late finishes and occasional weekend work. It is a permanent position with a salary of HC09 £40,778 - £45,092 per annum, and opportunities for LGPS

Qualifications

• Great analytical skills.
• Proficient in the use of Excel.
• Experience monitoring contracts and budgets, specifically within the waste sector would be preferable.
• The expertise to identify improvements.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders to implement change.

Responsibilities

• Analyse performance and use a performance management framework to demonstrate contractual outcomes.
• Develop effective partnerships with contractors through client/commissioner and provider relationships to deliver continuous improvement and value for money.
• Travel around the county is essential; some early starts, late finishes and occasional weekend work.
