Job summary

Home Bargains is expanding its Liverpool Regional Distribution Centre VMU team. We seek an experienced Vehicle Technician to service and repair our fleet, including trailer systems, with a focus on quality and compliance.

Role involves on-site work, 6am–6pm, 4 days on 4 off, and a commitment to safety standards. You'll join a large, private family-owned retailer with extensive fleet operations, offering comprehensive benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

Min 3 years' proven experience as a Vehicle Technician with trailer maintenance experience.
Experience diagnosing faults with computer-based diagnostic equipment.
UK driving licence held; HGV category advantageous.

Responsibilities

Carry out preventative vehicle maintenance and servicing, MOT preparation and repairs to a high standard.
Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately using diagnostic tools.
Repair or replace broken parts and resolve defects; road test vehicles after repairs.
Maintain VMU equipment and working areas to a high, clean standard; use hand tools and garage equipment.
Tail lift maintenance and bodywork repairs, fabrication and basic welding.
