TJ Morris Limited trading as Home Bargains is recruiting for a Vehicle Technician at our Liverpool Regional Distribution Centre's Vehicle Maintenance Unit. You will join a 24-hour VMU with over 20 technicians, performing preventative maintenance, servicing, MOT preparation and repairs to high standards.

We require at least 3 years’ experience, Level 2 City & Guilds or BTEC National in HGV Engineering, and a UK driving licence (HGV advantage).

Qualifications

• Essential min 3 years’ proven experience as a Vehicle Technician with trailer maintenance experience.
• Level 2 City & Guilds or BTECH National in HGV Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent UK recognised qualification.
• UK Driving licence (HGV category an advantage).
• Experience in fault diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative vehicle maintenance and servicing to a high standard.
• MOT preparation and repairs for the fleet.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and repair accordingly.
• Road test vehicles after repairs to ensure quality.
• Maintain VMU equipment and keep the workspace clean and safe.
• Complete administrative tasks and reports as requested.

Following the recent expansion of our fleet, we have a fantastic opportunity at our Liverpool Regional Distribution Centre, Vehicle Maintenance Unit for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our team.

We are Blue Rated Operator of over 400 trailers and over 100 powered vehicles which are all maintained internally at our state of the art 7 bay repair unit.

Our VMU is a 24 hour operation with over 20 technicians, apprentices and support staff.

We have a modern fleet of vehicles and trailers to include Scania/Volvo diesel and CNG powered trucks.

Our trailer fleet includes over 300 double deck trailers and 400 standard trailers all fitted with various types of tail lifts.

As a Vehicle Technician you will report to a Shift Supervisor and spend most of your time in the VMU as well as completing off site repairs.

You will be part of a VMU team which delivers excellent service to our wider business and maintains the fleet to the highest standards, complying to all health and safety procedures as well as DVSA requirements.

Working closely with other members of the team as well as the wider VMU and Transport team, you will make sure resources are aligned and a smooth-running operation is achieved.

We are looking for proactive individuals who can identify and resolve problems swiftly and who actively strive to continually improve team performance.

Package £51,417.60 per annum.

Average
38.61 hours per week. 4 on 4 off - 6am to 6pm Employee Benefits Full-time employees receive 28 days of annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), increasing to 33 days after 5 years of service.

Tech tool, MULTI/STAR and JAL and including trailer systems A desire for delivering the highest possible standards of work with respect to quality and compliance Must own standard tools
