Job summary

A long-established, independent prestige specialist in Derby is expanding its aftersales operation and seeking a senior Vehicle Technician. You will tackle complex electrical faults, engine overhauls, and high-level diagnostics in a clean, well-funded workshop that prioritizes skilled trade craftsmanship.

core responsibilities include root-cause diagnostics across mechanical, software, and CAN-bus systems, major powertrain work, routine servicing, and precise digital notes.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ / IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• MOT Tester licence is a major plus but not essential.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out root-cause diagnostic isolation across complex mechanical, software, and CAN-bus electrical systems.
• Execute major powertrain repairs, including timing chain replacements, clutch overhauls, gearbox builds, and head gaskets.
• Perform routine servicing, vehicle health checks (VHC), and pre-MOT evaluations across diverse makes and models.
• Write precise technical notes on digital job sheets and advise front-of-house staff on required repair procedures.
• Maintain high right-first-time quality control while maintaining a safe, organized bay.
