Job summary

Bishop Fleming Chartered Accountants is seeking an experienced VAT professional to lead and grow the VAT offering across the firm, including driving business development and client relationships. The role focuses on advisory work for corporates, international businesses, and public sector clients, with progression toward senior leadership.

You will work closely with the VAT Partner and tax leadership, shaping service delivery and mentoring junior colleagues, while enjoying hybrid/flexible

Qualifications

• Extensive VAT experience gained in practice or HMRC environment.
• Proven ability to grow fee revenues across a diverse VAT client base.
• CTA qualification preferred but not essential.
• Experience advising on Customs Duty alongside VAT is a plus.
• Strong communication and people-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise UK and international clients on VAT and indirect tax implications of cross-border activity.
• Develop and expand client relationships, identify BD opportunities and mentor junior staff.
• Lead delivery of VAT advisory projects with budget accountability.
• Collaborate with VAT Partner and tax leadership on strategy and service line growth.
• Contribute to firm-wide marketing and thought leadership through articles and webinars.
• Support flexible/hybrid working arrangements to promote work-life balance.
