Job summary

Grampian Valuation Joint Board is seeking an experienced Senior Valuer in Aberdeen for a permanent, full-time (36.25 hours) or part-time role with hybrid working. Salary for the post ranges from £52,478 to £56,587 per annum, with relocation support up to £6,480 and additional allowances including Essential Car User, pension, and flexible/home working.

The successful candidate will appraise both non-domestic properties for rating and domestic properties for Council Tax, supervise staff, mentor

Qualifications

• Chartered Surveyor with relevant local taxation valuation experience.
• Experience valuing non-domestic properties for rating and domestic properties for council tax.
• Ability to supervise, train and mentor colleagues.
• Experience presenting valuation evidence in tribunals.

Responsibilities

• Survey and value new and altered properties.
• Research and value complex subjects.
• Analyse sales, rental and cost evidence.
• Discuss with property owners and professional agents.
• Assist in appeal preparation and present valuation evidence at tribunals.
• Supervise and mentor Valuers, Trainees and Technicians.
