Job summary

Wayve in London is seeking a Staff Validation Engineer to lead validation for the Wayve AI Driver, collaborating with Product, Safety, and AV Engineering teams to define metrics and test strategies.

You will develop validation plans across simulated and real-world scenarios, analyze results, and report findings to stakeholders, helping ensure reliability as autonomy evolves to end-to-end learned models.

Qualifications

• Clear, concise communicator with excellent documentation skills.
• Strong analytical skills with evidence-based decision-making.
• Hands-on experience evaluating and validating complex engineered systems across simulations and real-world tests.
• Experience in the Automotive or AV industries.
• Proficiency in Python to implement metrics and work with evaluation codebase.
• Experience with both simulated and physical testing environments for autonomous systems.
• Experience analyzing and reporting validation results.
• Demonstrated ownership driving validation concepts from ideation to implementation in fast-paced environments.
• Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive validation strategy across test modalities for the Wayve AI Driver.
• Define and implement general purpose metrics for validating on-road and simulated behavior.
• Define test coverage requirements and build comprehensive test suites.
• Develop acceptance criteria through collaboration with Product, Safety, and AV Engineering teams.
• Analyze test results and report findings to Release and Autonomy Engineering stakeholders.
• Identify data, simulation, and evaluation dependencies to enable timely, scalable validation.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Data, Simulation, and Autonomy leads to design efficient test strategies.
