Job summary

Adler and Allan is seeking a Senior Utilities Surveyor to lead complex utility survey projects from site to delivery. You will manage field teams, coordinate with clients on site, and ensure safety and quality throughout each contract.

The role requires strong leadership, experience with EM L and GPR, and the ability to mentor junior staff while contributing to system and workflow improvements. A driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Utility Surveyor capable of independent work.
• Proven experience delivering complex utility surveys with multiple service types.
• Competence with utility detection equipment (EML, GPR).
• Solid understanding of field procedures, data collection and processing.
• Ability to plan and deliver projects with minimal supervision.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior surveyors.
• Strong quality control and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret client briefs and site requirements.
• Familiarity with RAMS and health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Independently undertake and process large and complex utility survey projects, including multi‑week durations.
• Lead projects and coordinate survey team members as required.
• Deliver projects within agreed quality standards, specifications and time allowances.
• Undertake accurate field data collection and subsequent processing.
• Carry out quality control checks on survey data and deliverables before issue.
• Plan and coordinate site activities, resources and workload for efficient delivery.
• Supervise and mentor other surveyors on assigned projects.
• Mentor junior and trainee team members to support development.
• Undertake site audits to maintain consistency in standards.
• Produce RAMS appropriate to the work being undertaken.
• Assist with enquiries and quotations, estimating site and processing time.
• Promote procedures and drive a positive divisional culture.
• Communicate confidently with clients, site teams and stakeholders.
