Job summary

Sports Interactive in London is seeking a Senior Animator to join the Art & Animation team in a hybrid role. You will work on animation quality for characters, gameplay, and cinematics within our Unity-based pipeline and help shape our future animation workflows.

You’ll collaborate across disciplines, direct motion capture shoots, and mentor junior animators while maintaining standards and delivering real-time optimized content for our titles.

Qualifications

• Experience in game animation focusing on character, gameplay, and cinematic animation.
• Shipped at least one title at a comparable scale.
• Has Unity experience.
• Strong ability to balance visual quality with performance.
• Experience directing motion capture shoots and cleanup.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and mentor others.
• Organized, self-motivated and proactive.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Passion for animation and quality.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality animations for characters, gameplay systems, and cinematics.
• Own complex animation tasks, including full-body, facial, and interactive animations.
• Direct and support motion capture shoots and refine captured data for in-game use.
• Collaborate with Designers and Programmers to ensure animations meet gameplay needs and technical constraints.
• Support our Principal animator to define and maintain animation standards, benchmarks, and style guides.
• Identify and drive improvements to animation workflows, pipelines, and tools.
• Ensure animation work is optimized for real-time performance without compromising quality.
• Support the development and integration of animation systems within the game engine.
• Provide clear, constructive feedback to peers and mentor junior and mid-level animators.
• Contribute to team discussions, planning, and cross-discipline problem solving.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
