The role
The role of a Senior Underwriting Analyst at IQUW is challenging yet truly rewarding. The role offers the opportunity to become a key member of a high-paced underwriting team within IQUW's exciting new Portfolio Solutions Division.
The primary focus of the Senior Underwriting Analyst is to provide pre-underwriting and technical analytics support to the Lead Underwriters, whilst also underwriting your own business in line with your IQUW underwriting authority.
The preparation of risks in readiness for underwriting is needed, including correctly organising submission flow, preparing rating sheets and pre-reading underwriting information.
Whilst being part of the underwriting team, the Senior Underwriting Analyst will collaborate with the support functions such as Exposure Management and Pricing teams to ensure a collegiate approach to risk management and pricing and that models are applied appropriately to individual risks. Overall book analysis, preparation of statistics and various other analytical tasks and skills will also be required. The aim is that the responsibilities of this role will evolve into gaining full underwriting authority over time. The key to success to gaining full underwriting authority will be a highly detailed and analytical underwriting approach, strong relationship management and unparalleled sales skills, as well as strong organisational skills and the ability to think ahead and use initiative.
