Job summary

Northreach is partnering with a well-capitalised specialist property lender expanding across the UK development finance and bridging market. The Senior Underwriter will own development finance and bridging transactions, from initial assessment through due diligence, approval, and completion.

You'll work closely with originators, borrowers, brokers, valuers and solicitors to deliver high-quality credit papers while maintaining credit quality.

Qualifications

• Strong experience underwriting Development Finance in the UK specialist property lending market.
• Experience underwriting Bridging Finance transactions.
• Ability to assess development appraisals, costs, GDV, LTC, LTGDV and LTV.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite development finance and bridging facilities from initial assessment to completion.
• Assess development appraisals, build costs, GDV, LTC, LTGDV, LTV and project viability.
• Review valuations and monitoring surveyor reports.
• Structure transactions balancing opportunity with credit protection.
• Prepare clear credit papers and recommendations for approval.
• Identify transaction risks and specify conditions and mitigants.
• Collaborate with brokers, borrowers and advisers to move transactions forward.
• Maintain underwriting standards across multiple live transactions.
