Job description

Location: 25 mins from St Pancras overground station (5 min walk to the office)

Work Arrangement: Fridays work from home

Holidays: 23 days holiday + bank holidays

Nouvo is excited to be working with this leading finance organisation, which has experienced mergers and growth in the last 18 months. Due to business expansion, they are recruiting a Senior Underwriter to ensure that applications are processed and approved within company and FCA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a pipeline of bridging cases and prioritise accordingly
• Underwrite bridging loan applications within company lending criteria by making quality lending decisions
• Be vigilant when working on cases and refer where necessary to the appropriate person
• Maintain high communication levels with brokers, applicants, surveyors, and solicitors
• Collaborate with other departments including sales, compliance, finance, and collections
• Oversee loans post-completion and follow up on offer conditions before handing the loan to collections
• Stay updated with current best practices and regulatory requirements
• Represent the company at events as required
• Attend broker training sessions
• Train and mentor junior staff members
• Have experience underwriting bridging finance loans, FCA regulated loans, and development finance
• Possess an excellent understanding of compliance, including the regulatory environment and Consumer Duty principles
• Adopt a pragmatic approach to underwriting
• Be commercially aware
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrate strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Work effectively within tight timeframes
• Be a strong team player
