An outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and visionary leader to join a leading MGA Underwriter as the Property & Casualty Underwriting Manager and drive the business forwards. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will play a pivotal role in defining and delivering our underwriting strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead the underwriting team to set and execute underwriting strategies, ensuring performance targets and KPIs are met across Property & Casualty product lines.
- Binder Management: Manage binders daily, exercise judgment in underwriting matters, monitor performance including exposure, rate movement, claims trends, and capacity reviews.
- Business Development: Develop growth strategies and implement action plans. Build long-term relationships with partners.
- Agent Development: Grow the agency database, promote products, target markets, and appetite through visits and engagement.
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, financial planning, and monitor metrics like loss ratio and underwriting performance.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, ensure efficiency, and promote continuous improvement.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and manage risks effectively.
- Customer-Centric Approach: Align underwriting strategies with agent needs to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Team Development: Foster collaboration, accountability, and inclusivity; nurture talent and high-performance teams.
