Job summary

McGregor Boyall is recruiting a Senior UI Developer to join a major financial services technology programme in London. The role focuses on building a high-performance Single Dealer Platform for electronic trading, with initial 12-month contract from City of London offices.

You will lead UI development, work with Product/UX/Backend teams, and mentor UI engineers while integrating with Java back-end services and real-time data streams.

Qualifications

• Strong React, TypeScript and RxJS experience.
• Experience with Redux/Context API, WebSockets and Vite.
• Knowledge of micro-frontends and modular architecture.
• Experience with Vitest, Playwright, Storybook or similar.
• OpenFin experience is advantageous.
• Financial markets experience, particularly FX, Fixed Income or Electronic Trading, is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead UI development and front-end architecture.
• Build scalable, low-latency trading interfaces using React and RxJS.
• Work closely with Product, UX and Backend teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to UI engineers.
• Integrate with Java backend services and real-time data streams.
• Drive performance, scalability and modernisation of the UI platform.
