Job summary

McGregor Recruitment is seeking a Senior UI Developer to join a major financial services technology programme in London, working on a high-performance Single Dealer Platform supporting electronic trading. Based in the City of London, this 12-month contract role focuses on front-end development and real-time interfaces.

You will lead UI development, build scalable interfaces with React and RxJS, collaborate with Product, UX and Backend teams, and mentor UI engineers while integrating with Java

Qualifications

Strong React, TypeScript and RxJS experience.
Experience with Redux/Context API, WebSockets and Vite.
Knowledge of micro-frontends and modular architecture.
Experience with Vitest, Playwright, Storybook or similar.
OpenFin experience is advantageous.
Financial markets experience, particularly FX, Fixed Income or Electronic Trading, is highly desirable.
Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead UI development and front-end architecture.
Build scalable, low-latency trading interfaces using React and RxJS.
Work closely with Product, UX and Backend teams.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to UI engineers.
Integrate with Java backend services and real-time data streams.
Drive performance, scalability and modernisation of the UI platform.
