Job summary

Codurance is seeking a Senior TypeScript Engineer to design, build and operate Node.js services on AWS serverless for a financial platform. You’ll join a small cross‑functional team and own production outcomes in a build‑and‑run environment.

You’ll lead technical delivery, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and operations. This contract offers a flexible hybrid setup across London, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh or Bristol and a rate of £600 per day inside IR35 for 6 months.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Hands-on AWS serverless (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, API Gateway, S3, ECS).
• Experience with event-driven architecture and document databases.
• Proven track record leading technical delivery in a build-and-run model.
• Experience mentoring engineers and incident management in a regulated FinTech environment.
• Comfort with testing, observability, performance, and distributed tracing.
• Exposure to Terraform, Serverless Framework and GitHub Actions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate services within your domain from architecture to delivery.
• Own SLAs and continually improve the reliability of what you ship.
• Write and maintain documentation for services.
• Mentor and guide other engineers in the team.
• Explain system workings to non-technical colleagues clearly.
• Judge when to iterate quickly or pause for deeper work.
• Collaborate openly with product and operations to challenge ideas.
