Job overview
Senior Trust Fellow in Paediatric Immunology
(Equivalent ST6 – Post CCT)
Start Date: July 2025, 1 year fixed term (Possibility to extend)

We are currently seeking applications for a Senior Clinical Fellow, providing an exciting opportunity to broaden and extend your clinical experience of paediatric Immunology, BMT and Infectious Diseases in the busy but supportive environment of a large children’s hospital.

As part of a team of senior middle grade doctors, you will provide outpatient daycase care, and will be trained in the diagnostic work-up and therapeutic management of children with recurrent infections and Primary Immunodeficiency.

The role offers a particularly valuable experience of the long-term outpatient management of children with Primary Immunodeficiency, working closely with the consultant team and specialist nurses. This is a unique experience to work alongside our Bone Marrow Transplant, Gene Therapy, and Thymic Transplant teams in the management of children with these rare disorders.

As the Senior Immunology Fellow you will work alongside the Gene therapy Fellow and thymic transplant Fellow in coordinating complex outpatients care. You will also work with the ward based middle grade team, which includes a mix of GRID trainees, Specialist Registrars and Clinical fellows who work across Immunology, Infectious Diseases and BMT patients at GOSH. There are no out of hour’s commitment with this post.

Main duties of the job

This is a post suitable for a doctor who is post-MRCPCH or equivalent with an excellent record in care of general paediatric and acutely sick children; and who wishes to pursue a career in paediatric Immunology, haematopoietic stem cell transplantation, or infectious diseases. The exact duties of the post holder will be tailored ot the successful candidate’s experience, and as such this post provides an excellent opportunity to a post-CCST candidate (or equivalent) wishing to specialise in tertiary level immunodeficiency, prior to taking up a consultant post. The post is a full time appointment, but applications from doctors wishing to work on a part-time basis will also be welcomed.

This contract is fixed term in nature, as the post is designed to provide specific training competencies to the post holder. Upon commencement in this role, your training competencies will be set.
