Job summary

Cardiff Council seeks a proactive Lead Officer (Development Projects) to shape and deliver transport schemes and infrastructure supporting Cardiff’s continued growth. Qualifications

• Organised and enthusiastic with experience in transport, infrastructure, development, local government or public sector environments.
• Strong project coordination skills with practical problem solving.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and knowledge of transport network management technologies.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development and implementation of transport schemes, projects and initiatives across Cardiff.
• Coordinating and managing development-related transport schemes, including Section 106 projects and liaison with Section 278 and Section 38 teams.
• Preparing business cases, funding bids and reports to support project delivery.
• Managing project budgets, monitoring progress and reporting on programme delivery.
• Leading consultation and stakeholder engagement activities with communities, developers and partner organisations.
• Supporting the implementation of transport infrastructure and network management technologies.
• Procurring and managing consultants, contractors and professional services contracts.
• Supporting transport data collection, analysis, modelling, monitoring and evidence-based decision making.
• Preparing responses to enquiries and correspondence relating to transport policy, strategy and projects.
• Working collaboratively across the Council and with external partners to deliver successful outcomes.
