Job summary

Jacobs in Manchester is seeking a Senior/Principal Transport Planner to lead important transport planning commissions from concept to delivery. You will develop robust recommendations for investment and future networks, working with major programmes, active travel and public transport initiatives.

You will also mentor graduates and early-career staff while collaborating with clients and stakeholders to win bids.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field e.g. Transport Planning, Engineering, Geography or Data Science.
• Experience in transport planning/modelling, including analysis tools and industry standards.
• Strong client focus, relationship-building, and business development skills.
• Experience contributing to proposal writing, bid submissions and technical reports for clients.
• Good understanding of Transport Analysis Guidance (TAG) and related guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of significant transport planning commissions from concept through to completion.
• Develop robust recommendations to support investment and future transport networks.
• Contribute to major infrastructure programmes, active travel and public transport initiatives.
• Mentor graduates, consultants and early-career professionals within the team.
