Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Principal or Associate Director Transport Planner with Highways Development Management experience to lead and support public sector transport planning work in Birmingham or Bristol.

You will provide transport advice on planning applications, ensure policy compliance, mentor juniors, and build relationships with local authorities while delivering impactful development projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Transport Planning or related discipline.
• Proven highways development management experience within transport planning.
• Experience acting for highway authorities, reviewing planning applications, and applying policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support transport planning advice for public sector clients.
• Review and respond to planning applications, ensuring policy compliance and deliverability.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.
• Engage with planners, developers and stakeholders to integrate transport considerations into development decisions.
