Job summary

Time Appointments are looking for an experienced Senior Transport Operator to join their established team in Southampton. You will be at the heart of a busy operation, coordinating drivers and vehicles, managing schedules, and ensuring goods move smoothly from dispatch to delivery.

You’ll communicate with drivers, customers and suppliers, monitor deliveries, resolve delays, maintain transport records, and support driver management.

Qualifications

• Experience in a transport planning, coordination or operator role.
• Knowledge of transport operations and logistics.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Good IT skills and experience with transport or logistics software.
• Excellent communication with drivers, customers and suppliers.

Time Appointments are working with a successful and established business that is looking for an experienced Senior Transport Operator to join their team based in Southampton.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced transport professional who enjoys being at the heart of a busy operation and is ready to take on a little more responsibility.

You’ll play a key role in the smooth running of the transport operation, coordinating drivers and vehicles, dealing with customers and suppliers, and making sure everything stays on track when things don't quite go to plan.

Working as part of a busy transport team, your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating the day-to-day transport operation
• Planning and scheduling vehicle and driver movements
• Communicating with drivers, customers and internal teams
• Monitoring deliveries and resolving any issues or delays
• Ensuring transport activities are carried out safely and efficiently
• Supporting driver management and day-to-day operational queries
• Maintaining accurate transport records and documentation
• Monitoring vehicle availability and operational requirements
• Working closely with the wider team to maximise efficiency
• Helping to identify and implement improvements across the transport operation
• Providing support and guidance to the wider transport team

Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous experience in a transport planning, coordination or operator role
