Job summary

Conrad Consulting Ltd are seeking an experienced Senior Transport Planner in Manchester to deliver a diverse range of development-led transport projects across the UK. You will produce Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Statements, while contributing to EIA and multidisciplinary work.

Ideal candidates will have a degree or master’s in a related field, CIHT/CILT/TPP/ICE membership advantageous, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Degree or Master’s qualification in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related subject.
• Membership or accreditation with CIHT, CILT, TPP or ICE would be advantageous.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills are required; knowledge of AutoCAD or GIS would be an added benefit.

Responsibilities

• Produce Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Transport Statements and other technical reports.
• Contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments and wider multidisciplinary projects.
• Regular client, local authorities and stakeholder contact; attend project meetings.
• Assist with fee proposals and contribute to business development.
• Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members.

Senior Transport Planner

Manchester

50k- 55k plus benefits

Our client is an established and expanding consultancy with a growing transport planning team in Manchester. Due to continued project wins and an increasing workload, the business is seeking an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join the team and take responsibility for delivering a diverse range of development-led transport projects.

The role offers the chance to work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes throughout the UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in producing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Transport Statements and other technical reports, while also contributing to Environmental Impact Assessments and wider multidisciplinary projects.

A strong understanding of UK transport policy and the planning system is essential, along with sound knowledge of sustainable transport, active travel and the relationship between new developments and existing transport infrastructure. Experience using TRICS, TEMPro, Junctions, LinSIG and TRANSYT would be highly beneficial.

As a senior member of the team, the successful candidate will have regular contact with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders. The position will also involve attending project meetings, assisting with fee proposals and contributing to business development, alongside providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the transport planning team.
