Job summary

784 TCE in Manchester is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to deliver development-led transport planning across private and public sector projects, including residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes.

You will produce Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Environmental Impact inputs, while engaging with clients and multidisciplinary teams. You will mentor juniors and contribute to proposals through fee submissions.

Qualifications

• You will have relevant industry experience in transport planning, including preparation of Transport Assessments and Travel Plans.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential; AutoCAD and GIS knowledge advantageous.
• A degree (or Masters) in transport planning, civil engineering, geography or related field is required; professional accreditation desirable.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

As a Senior Transport Planner within our Manchester-based Transport North team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, development-led transport planning solutions. Working across both private and public sector projects, you will contribute to a wide range of schemes including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

This role blends technical delivery with collaboration—producing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Environmental Impact Assessment inputs, while engaging with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams. You will also support junior colleagues and contribute to business development through client interaction and proposal preparation.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

You will have relevant industry experience in transport planning, including preparation of Transport Assessments and Travel Plans. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, with AutoCAD and GIS knowledge advantageous. A degree (or Masters) in transport planning, civil engineering, geography or a related field is required, with professional accreditation (CIHT, CILT, TPP or ICE) desirable.

Working Environment
