Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Transport Planner to join its Manchester or Liverpool team. You will deliver transport planning advice and support projects through the planning process.

You'll work with fellow planners, engineers and planning consultants on residential, industrial and masterplanning schemes, with opportunities for career development and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or related discipline.
• Approximately 2–3 years' experience in a transport planning consultancy.
• Experience producing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and other reports.
• Good understanding of transport planning policy and guidance.

I'm currently working with an award-winning, employee-owned engineering consultancy that is looking to strengthen its Transport Planning team in either Manchester or Liverpool.

The Role

As a Transport Planner, you'll play a key role in delivering transport planning advice and supporting projects through the planning process.

Working closely with colleagues across Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Structures and Geo-Environmental teams, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing Transport Assessments and Transport Statements
• Producing Travel Plans and Delivery & Servicing Plans
• Contributing to transport chapters of Environmental Statements
• Advising clients on transport strategy, site access and sustainable travel solutions
• Supporting planning applications through technical transport advice
• Working alongside developers, architects and planning consultants on multidisciplinary projects
• Assisting with site layout design and development planning strategiesWith projects spanning multiple sectors, you'll benefit from a diverse workload and exposure to a range of high-profile developments.

About You

Suitable candidates are likely to have:

• A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline
• Around 2-3 years' experience within a transport planning consultancy
• Experience producing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and other planning-related reports
• A good understanding of transport planning policy and guidance
• Strong communication and report-writing skills
• The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
• A collaborative and proactive approach to project delivery

Desirable experience includes:

• AutoCAD
• Vehicle tracking software
• Preliminary highway design
• Junction modelling software
• An understanding of project finances and commercial awarenessApplications are also welcomed from ambitious graduates who have gained relevant industry experience through placements, internships or postgraduate study.
