Carrington West is seeking a versatile highways, transport and kerbside design professional for a client-facing role in London. You will cover traffic engineering design, project management, and interpretation of monitoring data to inform design decisions.

The role involves flexible work between technical design and strategic advisory tasks, collaborating with local authorities across London boroughs and beyond.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or related discipline.
• Solid understanding of civil engineering principles as applied to highways and traffic schemes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility and concept design of highways, active travel and traffic schemes.
• Support road safety audits, school streets and 20mph/safety zone schemes.
• Interpret monitoring data (cycle counts, turning movements, queue lengths) to inform design decisions.
• Develop and deliver client-facing reports and technical notes.
• Coordinate site visits, surveys and stakeholder engagement across multiple projects.
• Contribute to strategy and policy-facing work as required.
