Job summary

Ringway Infrastructure Services in London is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join the London Projects Team. You will lead highway design activities, review drawings and reports, and mentor junior engineers across multiple schemes for TfL and London Borough clients.

The role requires hands-on design work, strong knowledge of UK highway standards, and the ability to manage multiple projects from concept to delivery within a busy urban environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering highways design schemes within London or similar urban environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK highway design standards.
• Experience in consultancy, contractor or framework environments.

Responsibilities

• Producing and reviewing highway design drawings, specifications and reports.
• Acting as Design Lead across multiple concurrent projects.

Ringway Infrastructure Services is looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our London Projects Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highways design professional who wants to remain hands-on with design whilst also supporting, mentoring and developing junior engineers and technicians. Working on behalf of Transport for London and London Borough clients, you'll play a key role in delivering a diverse range of highway improvement schemes across the capital.

Duties

• Producing and reviewing highway design drawings, specifications and reports.
• Acting as Design Lead across multiple concurrent projects.
• Leading designs through the full project lifecycle.

• Ensuring designs are safe, buildable and compliant with relevant standards.

Person Specification

• Experience delivering highways design schemes within London or similar urban environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK highway design standards.
• Previous experience working within consultancy, contractor or framework environments.
• Experience designing carriageway, footway, cycling, bus and public realm schemes.
• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and highway safety requirements.
• The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness and programme management capability.
• Experience using AutoCAD and industry-standard highway design software
