At Atlassian Williams F1 Team, we seek a Senior Trackside Aerodynamicist to own the aero analysis at circuits and translate track data into actionable race setup decisions. You will work with a high-performance aero development group to feed back learnings into the development programme.

Ideal candidates have a degree in aerodynamics or related fields, race car aero experience, and strong MATLAB/Python data-analysis skills.

Qualifications

A degree in aerodynamics, aeronautical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
Proven race car aerodynamics or performance engineering background.
Experience in Formula 1 or elite motorsport.
Strong data analysis skills in MATLAB or Python and building tools.
Willingness to travel internationally for race/calendar.

Responsabilités

Own trackside aero analysis across all race and test sessions, delivering conclusions within the running schedule.
Interpret and present aero data to engineers and drivers to inform setup decisions and development direction.
Identify aerodynamic limitations and quantify the lap-time cost of each.
Brief the race team on development items ahead of each event, including expected gains and measurement methods.
Improve track-to-tunnel and track-to-CFD correlation; specify instrumentation and experiments for validation.
Develop trackside analysis tools and best practices for the group.
Act as the reference for trackside aerodynamics, coordinating with build and development teams to improve the car each weekend.
