Job summary

WSP is seeking a chartered or eligible town planner to join the Infrastructure Planning Team in the UK. You will support major infrastructure projects, provide client-facing planning advice, and coordinate consent applications. The role involves collaboration across disciplines, supervision of others, and ongoing professional development.

The position offers hybrid working with home and office days across the UK, plus growth opportunities through training and chartership support.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree-level qualification in town planning (or equivalent).
• Be a member of (or eligible for) the RTPI.

Responsibilities

• Support and take responsibility for aspects of the town planning or consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs, etc.).
• Provide technical advice to clients and support their consenting requirements, demonstrating awareness of client expectations and needs.
• Coordinate the preparation and submission of consent applications under the Town and Country Planning Acts, the Planning Act 2008 or other regimes.
• Support negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders on behalf of clients.
• Engage with teams across a variety of disciplines, supporting and supervising others in their work/project delivery roles.
• Understand project and team roles and actively support and contribute to achievement, building positive relationships within the team.
• Proactively engage in developing own knowledge and skills to build ability and the team’s internal knowledge base.
