Carrington West is seeking an experienced Town Planning consultant to join our growing team near Shrewsbury. The role offers hybrid working and a varied portfolio of planning projects across a bustling market.

You will manage cases from instruction to determination, provide expert planning advice, and liaise with Local Planning Authorities and clients. The position offers a negotiable salary and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification from an RTPI‑accredited planning course.
• Chartered Membership of the RTPI (desirable).
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate technical reports.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Confident communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of planning applications from appointment through to determination.
• Assessing new planning enquiries and advising on planning strategy.
• Researching planning history, planning policy and site constraints.
• Undertaking site visits and preparing planning appraisals.
• Preparing fee proposals and quotations.
• Producing high-quality planning statements, supporting documents, Certificates of Lawfulness and appeal submissions.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Town Planning consultant to join a well‑established and growing planning consultancy based near Shrewsbury. This is an exciting role for a commercially minded Town Planner looking to manage a varied portfolio of planning projects while working alongside a highly experienced team of planning professionals.

You will take ownership of planning cases from initial instruction through to determination, providing expert planning advice to a diverse client base and representing clients throughout the planning process.

The Role

  • oLand Use Planning, including Gypsy and Traveller applications

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00am - 5:30pm
• One-hour lunch break

Some occasional out-of-hours working may be required, with time off in lieu provided.
