Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior Town Planner in Newcastle Upon Tyne to join a close-knit planning team. The role offers flexible hybrid working with 3 days in the office and a salary of £35,000 - £45,000 plus benefits.

You will lead project ownership, manage planning applications, advise clients and stakeholders, and contribute to major and complex schemes while developing your career within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within town planning, ideally within a consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
• Experience managing or contributing to planning applications.
• Exposure to major applications, EIA or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• A proactive, commercially aware approach.
• MRTPI or working towards chartership would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of your own projects while collaborating with colleagues across the wider team.

Senior Town Planner

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne - 3 days per week in the office

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + benefits

Carrington West are pleased to be working with working with a well-established and growing planning consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Town Planner to join their close-knit planning team.

The Role

You’ll be joining a planning team of eight, led by an experienced planning professional, comprising Associates, a Senior Planner, Planners and Assistant Planners.

The team works across a varied portfolio, with particular experience in:

• Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
• Major planning applications
• Large-scale infrastructure projects
• Strategic development
• Complex planning matters

As a Senior Town Planner, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of your own projects while working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider team. You’ll be involved in managing planning applications, advising clients and stakeholders, and contributing to the delivery of major and complex projects.

About You
