Penguin Recruitment is supporting a growing property consultancy based in Prestwood, Great Missenden. This role offers the opportunity to be a key member of a specialist team delivering bespoke planning and development solutions to private clients, family businesses, and commercial enterprises.

The firm is known for providing clear, strategic advice without the red tape of larger corporates, working across rural and development sectors with a tailored approach to client service.

The Role

You will lead planning services across a diverse project portfolio, working with a multidisciplinary team of Chartered Surveyors and Agri-Business Consultants. Your role involves shaping planning strategies, securing permissions, and unlocking client value. There is potential for career progression, including building the planning function and leading new business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading planning consultancy work such as strategic land promotion, rural development, diversification schemes, and planning applications
• Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
• Advising on pre-application strategies and liaising with local planning authorities
• Managing external consultants
• Providing planning appraisals and identifying new opportunities
• Supporting business development and practice growth

About You

• Ideally 5+ years post-qualification experience in town planning or related field
• Proven track record with complex planning schemes, rural or mixed-use experience preferred
• Commercially minded and confident in client interactions
• Ability to manage multiple demands, work independently, and collaboratively
• RTPI accreditation is desirable but not essential if experience is demonstrated
