Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Chelmsford, Essex is seeking a Senior Town Planner to join a well-established property development team. You will manage planning applications, provide expert advice on residential and commercial schemes, and liaise with local authorities and landowners to drive project success.

The role requires a degree in Town Planning, MRTPI status or progression, and a solid track record in UK planning processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
• MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership.
• Previous experience in a town planning role, ideally Senior Planner level.
• Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation, policy and development processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate planning applications from initial stages through to determination.
• Provide planning advice and support on residential and commercial development projects.
• Undertake planning research, site appraisals and policy assessments.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants, landowners and other key stakeholders.
• Prepare planning statements, reports and supporting documentation.
• Monitor changes in planning policy and legislation, advising on their potential impact on projects.
• Support the delivery of development projects in line with planning requirements and business objectives.

Requirements

• A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
• MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership
