Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd seeks an experienced Thermal Engineer to drive thermal analysis for Defence systems across Land, Naval, Seeker and Space domains. You will advise on cooling strategies, materials, and verification methods while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and UK customers.

The role emphasizes hands-on CFD using Ansys Icepak/Fluent and classical hand calculations, with occasional travel to other UK sites. A Chartered level of experience and strong communication are valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering and postgraduate thermal experience.
• Proven thermal analysis expertise with extreme environments experience.
• Proficient with CFD tools and classical hand calculations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thermal analysis of designs to assess performance and safety using CFD and hand calculations.
• Advise on cooling strategies and material/manufacturing choices for thermal integrity.
• Define thermal requirements and verify compliance across products.
• Support product development from design through certification and testing.
