Job summary

Leonardo is seeking an experienced Thermal Engineer to join our Defence products teams across Land, Naval, Seeker and Space domains in the UK. You will conduct Thermal Analysis, advise on cooling strategies and support product development through design, testing and certification.

This role requires a Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering degree, post-graduate thermal experience, and proficiency with CFD tools such as Ansys Icepak and Fluent. Occasional travel to UK sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
• Post-graduate experience in Thermal engineering.
• Proficiency in CFD tools (Ansys Icepak/Fluent) and hand calculations.
• Experience with environmental test methods and design verification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thermal analysis of mechanical designs using CFD techniques and hand calculations.
• Provide guidance on cooling strategies and thermal design improvements.
• Advise on materials and manufacturing techniques for thermal performance and integrity.
• Define thermal requirements and verify compliance across Leonardo products.
• Drive innovation in thermal design with new technologies.
• Support product development through design, testing and certification.
