Job summary

The Amicus Community in Fontwell, near Littlehampton, is seeking a Senior Therapeutic Childcare Practitioner for our children’s residential home. You will lead staff and support children within a therapeutic, trauma-informed environment.

We require at least 1 year of childcare experience, a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), and a full UK driving licence. Role involves shift work, including sleep-ins and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of childcare experience.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and progression in therapeutic childcare.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Safeguarding and Enhanced DBS checks required.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, providing support to staff and the children.
• Assist in the operational running of the home.
• Hours: full-time (around 40h/week) with sleep-ins and on-call duties as per rota.
• Care for traumatised children aged 4–11 on referral.
