Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital is seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner (ODP) to join our Theatre team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role requires HCPC registration and post‑registration peri-operative care experience, with a focus on safe, compassionate patient care.

Working 37.5 hours per week, you will lead theatre activities, support governance and collaborate with clinicians to deliver high‑quality perioperative services within the Nuffield Health framework.

Senior Theatre Practitioner (ODP)

Tunbridge Wells Hospital | Theatre | Permanent | Full Time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Up to £48,500 per annum, depending on experience

The Senior Theatre Practitioner (ODP) position requires registration with the appropriate governing body and HCPC registration. The practitioner brings post‑registration experience in peri‑operative care and is a focused, flexible, and motivated team worker.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise patient safety, taking appropriate actions and encouraging colleagues to call out and report safety concerns.
• Promote a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff in full compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Support governance activity, ensuring full compliance with Nuffield Health’s quality governance framework and national standards, e.g. CQC, HIW, HIS Regulation, fundamentals of care, professional standards and evidence‑based guidelines.
• Provide and lead care management and delivery, treating patients, families, friends and representatives with kindness, dignity, respect and compassion, and support them to cope emotionally with their care, treatment or condition.
• Collaborate with other clinicians within the hospital, building strong working relationships that enhance patient care and service delivery.
• Take charge of a theatre, coordinating and delivering work activities and leading junior practitioners.
