Job description

Senior Test Manager

Salary: National circa £60,000 / London circa £70,000

We have an opportunity for a Senior Test Manager to join the Quality Engineering Centre of Excellence. We have a multi-site team working in a range of roles/assignments, across projects and platforms.

The role requires candidates with a broad insight across products and systems used in our Aviva business whilst having previous experience and possessing deep knowledge in Customer Data and Analytics change. This role requires an individual who will work with stakeholders to influence and change the current way of working.

A bit about the job:

  • This role is working as a Senior Test Manager within the Quality Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering specific projects and working across the platform on transformation & innovation activities in collaboration with other teams
  • The quality engineering team is embarking on a period of transformation and requires a personality at the forefront of this process to advocate for quality engineering
  • The role involves representing QE into senior business stakeholders,working collaboratively with all disciplines within IT and understanding the impact of change on users & our customers is essential
  • Mentoring other members of the team, leading through coaching and developing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the estate

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Proven expertise in System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies with a strong track record of implementing Quality Engineering (QE) metrics that drive efficiency, automation, and measurable quality improvements
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and governance, with a focus on establishing QE standards, patterns, best practices, reusable asset libraries, test data frameworks, and tooling strategies
  • Strong technical proficiency in SQL, with working knowledge of programming languages such as Python, and hands-on experience in data analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM) systems, data warehousing solutions, and cloud-based environments. Skilled in both functional and non-functional testing, including performance, security, and accessibility
  • Deep understanding of risk, issue, and interdependency management within the context of QE frameworks and delivery patterns

  • Starting salary circa £60,000 for National based or circa £70,000 for London based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
