Job summary

HMRC, within the CDIO organisation, is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead performance and volume testing across cloud-based applications and infrastructure. You will work with product owners, developers and operations to ensure resilient, scalable live services and contribute to OAT and infrastructure readiness activities.

You will drive automation, establish testing artefacts, and mentor the QAT community while advancing shift-left quality practices in a complex government enterprise.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading Performance and Volume Testing across complex enterprise environments.
• Experience with non-functional testing, including OAT, resilience, and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, execution and reporting of PVT testing including workload modelling and capacity planning.
• Define non-functional requirements and acceptance criteria for testing.
• Analyse results to identify bottlenecks and risks, providing evidence-based recommendations.
• Develop and maintain automated performance testing solutions and CI/CD integration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring within the QAT Profession.
