Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Temporary Works Engineer for Transmission based in Birmingham to lead the design, installation and maintenance of temporary works across UK projects. You will ensure safety, compliance with BS5975:2019 and project specs while coordinating with design teams, clients and subcontractors.

Responsibilities include developing temporary works plans, maintaining the Temporary Works Register, supervising on-site activities, and delivering robust, safe temporary works

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Construction or related field with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Higher National Diploma with 8+ years of related experience.
• Higher National Certificate with 9+ years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of transmission systems, construction practices, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Temporary Works with construction management, design, clients and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
• Develop and maintain Temporary Works Register and schedules.
• Review designs, calculations, and documentation for safety and compliance.
• Oversee on-site temporary works activities and supervise subcontractors.
• Maintain RAMS and ensure approvals before construction.
