Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior Temporary Works Engineer to join their civil, structural and geotechnical team across multiple UK locations, including Liverpool. The role offers agile working with up to 1-2 days per week from home and a 40-hour week.

You will lead delivery of temporary works design and checking, review designs for buildability and safety, and mentor junior staff within a top-tier engineering consultancy with a £11bn+ project pipeline.

Qualifications

• Strong grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering principles.
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or working towards Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in temporary works design and/or management is essential.

Senior Temporary Works Engineer

My client is looking for civil, structural and/orgeotechnical engineers to join their team in various locations around the UK.

Locations:Birmingham / Bristol / Cambridge / Cardiff / Glasgow / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Manchester / Newcastle / Norwich / Plymouth - agile working, with up to 1-2 days per week from home if desired

Hours:40 hours per week - flexibility on hours available if desired

Are you?

• Practically-minded, with a strong grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering principles and knowledge of applicable design standards?
• An Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or working towards Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with an equivalent level of experience?

What will you be responsible for?

Leading the delivery of a broad range of construction engineering services, including some or all of: temporary works design and checking, reviewing permanent designs for compliance and buildability, supporting tenders and preconstruction planning, and providing technical support to overcome construction-stage and post-construction issues and defects.

Main responsibilities

• Producing, checking and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM, SHE procedures and QA processes
• Acting as Project Lead for multiple projects, managing technical scope, programme, budget and relationships with preconstruction and construction teams, from bid through to delivery
• Developing yourself, other individuals and the wider team, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and systems, enabling the business to adapt to current and future challenges.
