Job summary

Goaco is seeking a technically strong Voice Engineer to lead the end-to-end migration of an Avaya telephony environment to Microsoft Teams Phone. This hands-on role covers discovery, design, implementation, migration, and operational transition with a focus on complex enterprise scenarios.

The successful candidate will bring proven Avaya Aura experience and multiple Teams migrations, working closely with M365, network, and service teams to deliver a seamless transition with minimal business

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of enterprise voice engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Avaya Aura experience, including Communication Manager, Session Manager and System Manager.
• Two successfully completed migrations from traditional PBX platforms to Microsoft Teams Phone, including at least one Avaya migration.
• Proven experience as a lead or principal technical engineer responsible for telephony migration delivery.
• Strong Microsoft Teams Phone implementation experience covering Direct Routing, Operator Connect, call queues and voice routing.
• Practical experience configuring SBCs, preferably AudioCodes or Ribbon.
• Advanced knowledge of SIP, RTP, SRTP, SIP trunking and enterprise voice networking.
• PowerShell scripting for Microsoft Teams voice administration.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Teams administration.
• Knowledge of network technologies including VLANs, QoS, firewalls, NAT and real-time media optimisation.
• Ability to diagnose complex voice issues using Wireshark, SBC logs and call tracing tools.
• Strong technical documentation, stakeholder communication and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Discovery and technical assessment of existing Avaya environments.
• Solution architecture and design for Teams Phone migrations.
• Hands-on engineering, SBC management and interop with Avaya during migration.
• Migration delivery with phased plans and pilot/test runs.
• Operational transition including knowledge transfer and runbooks.
• Triage and resolve SIP/RTP/voice quality issues across sites.
