Job summary

Amazon’s OTS Design Execution (ODX) team seeks an experienced telecoms design leader in the UK to drive complex telecoms infrastructure design across multiple projects and regions. You will coordinate with internal design teams and customers, review designs, and lead design reviews using Autodesk tools.

  • BICSI RCDD or equivalent qualification.
  • Deep technical knowledge of telecoms infrastructure design (structured cabling, fibre, copper, wireless).
  • Background in IT infrastructure design and consulting.
  • Proficient in Autodesk design tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Familiar with standards (BICSI, TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC).
  • Able to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • Strong judgment, negotiation, analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Clear communication of data insights with evidence-based business cases.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with multiple projects.
  • Willing to travel a minimum of 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Project manage telecoms design projects, coordinating design requirements with internal design team and managing key stakeholders including customers.
  • Provide telecoms design expertise and technical input across programs; review designs and resolve technical queries.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings with other trades for clash detection and resolution.
  • Lead or contribute to design reviews, supporting quality gates and acceptance criteria across buildings, regions and vendors.
  • Use Autodesk Revit to support elements of the design workflow.
  • Support QA/QC processes, including AI-driven quality checks and standardised review checklists.
  • Contribute to documentation library (SOPs, QC checklists, playbooks).
  • Drive automation and tooling adoption.
  • Mentor designers and BIM technicians with telecoms design expertise.
  • Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical locations.
  • Act as technical interface to stakeholders and support information exchange with customers.
  • Provide coordination support for information requests during launches.
  • Record and report key metrics to management.
  • Lead workshops to align goals and deliver results.
  • Act as technical leader and escalation point for telecoms design across the business.

Job description

Salary: £60,000 - 110,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We have experience in program or project management.
  • We have 10+ years in telecoms design, including cabling infrastructure design and deployment program management.
  • We hold a BICSI RCDD or equivalent qualification.
  • We have deep technical knowledge of telecoms infrastructure design, including structured cabling, fibre, copper, and wireless.
  • We have a proven background in IT infrastructure design and consulting, not just telecoms project management.
  • We are proficient in Autodesk design tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • We understand relevant standards such as BICSI, TIA/EIA, and ISO/IEC.
  • We are able to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • We demonstrate strong judgment, negotiation, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • We can clearly communicate data insights and use hard data and metrics to support assumptions and business cases.
  • We are comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • We are willing to travel as needed, with a minimum of 25% travel expected.
