Job summary

Network Rail is seeking an experienced Telecoms Engineer to lead renewal and enhancement projects, ensuring asset management alignment and compliance with safety standards. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive telecom systems engineering input and robust maintenance regimes across Milton Keynes and London.

The candidate will manage asset records, drive renewals, and oversee assurance processes, with opportunities for hybrid work arrangements as part of a diverse, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Incorporated Engineer and Chartered Engineer qualifications or progressing towards them.
• Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent.
• Membership of a professional institution is preferred.
• Substantial telecoms engineering experience, especially renewals and enhancements.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in telecoms.
• Valid UK driving licence or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the Central Telecom renewal, refurbishment, and enhancement work bank.
• Lead the specification and acceptance of renewal requirements for telecom engineering works.
• Support projects post-handover to ensure scope and deliverables meet asset management plans.
• Provide telecom systems engineering input for maintenance regimes and activity volumes.
• Ensure accurate records of telecom assets and configurations.
• Lead asset condition inspections informing the telecom asset database.
• Review derogation and non-compliance applications.
• Participate in assurance processes and maintenance audit programmes.
• Monitor reliability and performance of telecom assets and drive corrective actions.
